How should I store bakery sourdough?
Store your loaf at room temperature in a paper bag, a linen bread bag, or a cut-side-down setup on a wooden board. Avoid plastic bags, which trap moisture and make the crust soggy.
Can I freeze sourdough bread?
Yes, sourdough freezes very well. Slice the entire loaf first so you can grab single pieces to toast directly from frozen, and wrap it tightly in foil or plastic wrap.
How long will it stay fresh?
At room temperature, a bakery sourdough loaf typically stays fresh for about 3 to 5 days. If the crust softens over time, you can crisp it back up by popping a slice into a hot toaster or oven for a few
Is bakery sourdough dairy-free or vegan?
Traditional artisan sourdough uses only three core ingredients: flour, water, and salt (leavened by a wild yeast and bacteria starter). It contains no milk, butter, or commercial yeast, though some of our inclusion loave and specialty loaves have extra mix-ins like cheese, honey, or seeds.
Is your sourdough gluten-free?
Most traditional bakeries do not offer gluten-free sourdough because true sourdough relies on wheat, rye, or spelt gluten networks to rise and hold its structure.
Is sourdough easier on the stomach?
Yes. The long natural fermentation process breaks down gluten proteins partially and converts phytic acid, making it much easier to digest and gentler on blood sugar than standard commercial sandwich breads.
